All the lawyers in our dispute resolution department are members of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and are equipped to handle disputes before International Arbitration Tribunals as well as domestic arbitration tribunals. Conscious of the fact that disputes can cause projects to stall and lead to cost overruns, we have invented mechanisms of protecting our client’s interests in how we couch Arbitration clauses and in how we navigate the arbitration process on behalf of our clients. Our lawyers have remained connected with trends in the International practice of arbitration through membership in national, regional and international associations.
Through our international partners Curtis, Mallet –Prevost, Colt and Mossle LLP, we have developed capacity for representation of States in inter-State disputes, proceedings before international organizations, including human rights bodies, and investor-State arbitration disputes, as well as advisory work for governments in connection with sovereignty, treaty, investment, diplomatic and other public international law matters.
Curtis represent States in a wide-range of disputes related to national boundaries, energy and petroleum industry, international commercial transactions and infrastructure development. They handle cases before various arbitral institutions, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and SCC rules.
